Led end-to-end development of a poker study platform focused on game theory optimal (GTO) analysis as the sole engineer in a two-person team. Built a hand-review system that analyzes played hands and matches them to relevant GTO scenarios across a PostgreSQL dataset containing 700M+ hands and 100+ GB of data. Reduced API response time for common GTO scenarios by 95% (20 seconds to 1 second) using targeted PostgreSQL indexing, Redis caching, cache pre-warming, and precomputed data. Added automated testing with Pytest for critical FastAPI endpoints and Vitest for frontend tests, executed via GitHub Actions. Owned Docker-based deployments across Render and Hetzner, managing schema migrations, data backfills, logging/monitoring, and database backups.
