I’m a graduate from the University of Cape Town, qualifying with a Bachelor of Arts in Film Study and English Literature. With aspirations of being a director/screenwriter, storytelling is what I feel my primary purpose is and filmmaking happens to be the ideal medium. Narrative film is a cornerstone of my work however interests do extend towards the realms of documentary and advertising. When taking the time out to study fundamentals of brand identity through graphic design (colour theory, composition, typeface, etc) and marketing I realised these skills are essentially transferable in the sense that we connect to the likeness of a brand through similar foundations that a compelling narrative is developed under. A fundamental of mine is prioritising the transfer of skill over the acquisition of qualifications hence I have used the knowledge gained through education towards co-founding an independent film production company "Breakage Cost”. Whilst starting the journey has been invaluable I am looking towards working under a professional production service to gain experience that I can utilise to sharpen my expertise. This ranges from work in pre-production and post-production. What I offer is time management, meticulous planning, creative liberty and a curiosity with regard to collaboration.
