Invasive Futures — Material Research Project Lead (Research) at Central Pulp and Paper Research Institute (collaboration) / Central Saint Martins / GrowLab

Led a community-informed material research project investigating the colonial and ecological history of an invasive plant species in India and its impact on local landscapes, craft practices, and rural economies. Conducted field research with farmers and informal knowledge systems. Collaborated with the Central Pulp and Paper Research Institute to develop pulp from the invasive plant using the Lyocell process, translating invasive biomass into textile-grade material. Continued lab-based R&D at GrowLab at Central Saint Martins to explore dye properties and UV-protective compounds. Worked with print and dye facilities to extract natural dye and produce and dye a 5-metre fabric sample.
