Joshua Olivier Gordon is a virtuosic, classically trained cellist that has a passion not only for symphony playing but also for performing in a wide range of musical avenues.
Joshua built his unique sound from performing a variety of styles like: Reggae, Kompa, and other Caribbean styles of music from his parents. This influence eventually manifested into an obsession for mastery of different genres. Joshua has honed the skills and practice of all these styles during his time with several groups, such as: the Classical Revolution Quartet, The Toledo Show in Los Angeles, The Bear Valley Festival Orchestra, The Southern Arizona Symphony, Civic Orchestra of Tucson, Tucson Repertory Orchestra (where he holds a position as Principal Cellist), and the Colour of Music Festival orchestra.
Joshua was featured at the NFL’s Super Bowl LX (60) as the primary cellist for the national anthem orchestra. He has also worked alongside groups like the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, The Baltic Sea Philharmonic and the Houston Grand Opera Orchestra.
Joshua has built a name for himself not only as an individual performer but also as a composer and arranger. On numerous occasions, he has been featured for his compositional skills at multiple venues, such as: the Bear Valley Music Festival, the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, the New Directions Cello Festival, the UBG Strings Sacramento Public Library concert series and for his own curated performance showcase in Fort Worth, Texas.
Joshua works extensively between San Francisco and Los Angeles.
