Hi! My name is Alejandra Paz Martínez. I’m an autodidact artist who loves to paint beautiful animals, from realistic pieces to animal characters in funny, daily and special situations. My work is inspired by my love for animals; as a child I grew up looking at my grandfather’s animal encyclopedias and often copied the pages, a memory I still treasure. I’m fascinated by their innocence and the mystery in their glances, and I enjoy illustrating them doing 'human' things to tell stories. My techniques are all traditional—watercolor, acrylics, alcohol markers, color pencils, gel pens, soft pastels, collages, and mixed media. I also enjoy singing, making collages, reading as a form of escape, and animal embroidery (portrait and realistic) and bead embroidery. WindyNights is my alter ego, a dreamy, happy, free soul I paint as a magical being, infusing my pieces with my feelings and emotions.
