Wyatt Forhan is a versatile jazz musician and producer originally from St. Louis, Missouri, currently based in East Lansing, Michigan. He is known for his skills on bass trombone, piano, and drums, and has earned a bachelor's and master's degree in Jazz Trombone Performance at Michigan State University under the mentorship of Michael Dease. Forhan's musical journey began at age three with drums, followed by piano at eight. He picked up the trombone in fourth grade and transitioned to bass trombone by fifth grade. He honed his jazz skills through six years with Jazz St. Louis’s JazzU program. His talent has earned him numerous accolades, including “Best Jazz Soloist” awards at various Midwest jazz festivals. He has performed with prestigious ensembles such as the 2016 Jazz Band of America, the 2017 Next Generation Jazz Orchestra, and the 2018 NYO Jazz Orchestra. Forhan is also featured on Ulysses Owens Jr.’s big band debut album, "Soul Conversations". As a performer, Forhan has graced stages across the U.S., Canada, and Europe, appearing at events like the Monterey Jazz Festival, Montreal Jazz Festival, and Rochester Jazz Festival. He has shared the stage with notable artists including Sean Jones, Terell Stafford, Stefon Harris, and Dianne Reeves. In addition to his performance career, Forhan leads the Wyatt Forhan Unity Quartet, which has performed at venues like the Blue LLama Jazz Club in Ann Arbor. He is also active as a producer, collaborating on projects such as the upcoming album *TOTNC* with Kiddexx Forhan continues to develop his artistry through performances and collaborations, contributing to the jazz scene both locally and internationally.
