Yoann Derunes

I was born on the north coast of France and moved to Mauritius when I was 2 months old, growing up there until I was 19. I then studied film in Cape Town, South Africa, focusing on cinematography, editing and directing. After completing my studies, I continued traveling and eventually arrived in Australia on a working holiday visa about 13 years ago. While in Australia I studied Broadcast Television and Sound Engineering, and I have worked across broadcast and audiovisual industries while building Retina Media Production to create promos and music videos for my own business.

In Australia I have accumulated extensive experience in video production, live AV, and broadcast, taking on roles from camera operator and director to editor and supervisor. I founded Retina Media Production and have worked on projects for television shows and live events, while also providing technical leadership in AV and broadcast environments.
