Abby is an editor by trade, as well as a director, shooter, and all-around storyteller. Born and raised in Texas, she graduated from the Honors College at the University of Houston in 2014 where she majored in Media Production with a Minor in History. After graduation, she relocated to Seattle, where worked and lived for 10 years. In 2025 she moved to Denver to be closer to mountains and family. Abby has directed, shot, and edited numerous short documentaries, and has been working as a freelance editor for over a decade. In 2023 she premiered her first feature, "Punderneath It All," a comedy documentary that chronicles the whacky, cringe, heartfelt world of pun competitions. "Punderneath" was selected for broadcast by Cascade PBS and is currently streaming on Tubi and Fawesome.tv. She is the recipient of grants from 4Culture, Artist Trust, and the University of Houston for documentary film. Abby has served on the boards of the Seattle Documentary Association and Allied Arts Foundation. Her films have been accepted into numerous film festivals, including the Seattle International Film Festival, Deep in the Heart Film Festival, Tacoma Film Festvial, LA Femme International Film Festival, Broad Humor Film Festvial, Rivercity Film Festival, Local Sightings Film Festival, The Seattle Transmedia and Independent Film Festival, The Lionshead Film Festival, Dallas VideoFest, CineFest Global, The Blackbird Film Festival, and the Bayou City Food and Film Festival. She enjoys backpacking, crocheting, running, baking, and spending time with her partner Jimmie, two cats Tony and Luna, and baby girl named Jayne.
