Hello! My name is Price Garrison. I'm a Culver City storyteller. It all began with an iMac and a video camera in the fifth grade when I first seized every opportunity to make a short film for recreation or schoolwork. By my senior year of high school, I produced and directed a feature film as an independent study. During undergrad, I studied at Playwrights Horizons Theatre School and Stonestreet Studios under the auspices of NYU Tisch School of the Arts. There, I graduated with a BFA in Drama. Unlike the other acting studios, PHTS taught directing, design, writing, and independent producing. Stonestreet was unique in that it focused on film and television. The foundations provided by the unique combination of these two programs has led me to creative opportunities in a number of fields and formats; over the past twelve years, I have produced, directed, written, designed, and performed in a number of plays, readings, films, and live streams. Recently, my short film "Pumpernickel" was accepted into the Golden State Film festival and will screen at Los Angeles' renowned Chinese Theatre on 2/28. I have also been developing a feature film screenplay which has recently been named as a Quarterfinalist in a few competitions. The character development and dialogue has received consistent positive feedback from judges and other evaluation services, particularly how they are used to drive the story with a large cast of characters: - "There are plenty of quite funny exchanges in this script, which is a testament to the strengths of its dialogue and character writing. Overall, the dialogue flows quite well, particularly for a script in which large numbers of characters are frequently sharing scenes together." - “The script benefits from the use of intrigue, encouraging the reader to discern the plot. This engages the reader’s brain, pushing them to interpret events and relationships as they are delivered.” - “The different relationships between characters, and strong protagonists, could attract high-level acting talent.” - It is snappy, clever, and entertaining. Everyone has a strong personal voice that comes through, even as they posture and try to one-up one another. The jokes work and land very well. The characters feel real while also feeling heightened. The roles would likely be very appealing to actors due to the clever, fast-paced dialogue and character dynamics." Given that this job is a character and dialogue driven, I would love to lend what i can to your team. I've been a long admirer of game and think this would be a great way to enter a new field! I love what you all do and would love to share some samples and talk more!
