I am is a Multi-Instrumentalist Musician, Composer, and Audio Engineer based in Dublin, Ireland. I have skills in both recording live musicians, composing musical pieces for film and games, and editing and sound designing audio for all different kinds of media. I am dually passionate about film composition and game audio composition and accustomed to the different techniques they both require. In terms of musical style, my influences are wide and varied. Being interested both in the droning, experimental and tactile sound of modern horror and the beautiful, lush and grand sound of classical orchestra. I’ve graduated from the Dun Laoghaire Institute Of Art Design + Technology/Sound Training College achieving a BA Hons First Class Honours in Creative Music Production. Here he acquired proficient skills in using industry standard audio production software such as Pro Tools, Logic, Ableton, etc, as well as the middleware programs FMOD and Wwise. My skills also include mixing and mastering techniques and using tools such as EQs, compressors, reverbs, pitching, time alignment, etc. My audio skills and passion for film has already led him to work on a few short films.     paper The Small Makings of a Storm

    For this short animated film, I was provided with composed music and raw foley/sfx that was unorganised. After editing and aligning the foley with the visuals I had to do extensive sound design and creative mixing to clean up and enhance the audio. I also added some extra foley and sfx where needed. I then mixed and mastered the all the films audio to make it approprate for film audio standards.

    This has gone on to win several awards including Best Music and Sound Design at Dingle Animation Festival 2022.

    paper Lotus

    In this short animated film, I was in charge of creating and handling all the audio. I composed all the music, created all the foley/sfx, edited the audio, as well as mixed and mastered it to film audio standards.

    The aim of the film was to use music, foley, and sfx to tell the story rather than voice. Which required the music to be very expressive and closely follow the visuals. I used a recurring melodic motif throughout the film, changing and altering it’s timbre to help convey the changes in the story.

    paper Hereditary - Rescore

    This is a horror scene with a lot of building tension, odd sounds, dissonance, and a large crescendo. The scene lent itself to being more freeform both in tonality and not being locked to a grid or tempo which was very interesting to create to.

    The audio on the Hereditary video clip has been seperated and isolated using Izotope RX so that I could incorporate some of the dialogue and SFX with my rescored music while removing the original music.​

    paper Upgrade - Rescore

    This is a fight/action scene that had a lot of dynamic movement in tension and intensity which was great to implement in my rescore. The setting of the movie is somewhat futuristic/cyberpunk so it allowed me to incorporate interest and complex synth sounds.

    The audio on the Upgrade video clip has been seperated and isolated using Izotope RX so that I could incorporate some of the dialogue and SFX with my rescored music while removing the original music.

    paper Gloom (Our Future Forecasts)

    For this short animated film, I was in charge of all the audio which included music, foley/sfx, sound design, mixing, and mastering.

    After a brief explanation from Ruairi about the themes and ideas of the film, it was mainly left up to me on what the direction for sounds and music would be for this film.

    This allowed me to be very creative and expressive with the foley/sfx and hone in on perfecting the timbre for sound design and short musical motifs.

    For this short animated film, I collaborated with Gavin Carter.

    Gavin performed the guitar piece, which is the main theme of the film, while I handled the rest of the audio for the film. This included foley/sfx, sound design, the end sequence music (both muffled club music and horror ambience), audio editing, mixing, and mastering.
