Hi there! My name is Alexandra, and I am a creative writer living in Vancouver, B.C. For the last five years, I have worked as a Writer and Content Manager for a story-reading app (Lure). This is a choose-your-own-adventure-based game where the user plays the role of the main character. Beginning as a full-time writer for the company, I created a romance series that has garnered over five million views. Each "episode" or chapter written was a minimum of 3,000 words, so it was typical for me to write up to 10,000 words every week. In 2020, I transitioned into the role of Content Manager, leading a team of over 10 writers worldwide. This is where I found my love for management. In this role, I was responsible for editing the team's work, uploading it to our app, adding photos, checking for syntax errors, monitoring story performance/conversion rates, and creating weekly feedback documents for each writer. I also made a point to prioritize bi-weekly or monthly check-in calls, depending on the writer's needs. My communication style is clear, honest, and empathy-led. Within this role, I was also responsible for hiring and onboarding team members. There was a huge learning curve for new writers as they had to learn our unique coding syntax and structure. These codes were important. One wrong code meant the story would not translate into a gaming formula. Attention to detail was vital in this role. There were so many little things I was responsible for in this role. It was a small team, which I loved. It made me feel like I was making a difference in the company and helping us grow. With my diverse experience in management, creative writing, and customer service, I could be a great fit for this position. I thrive in a fast-paced environment when surrounded by a positive team! I love learning new things and a good challenge.
