This series explores the beauty of motion through high-speed splash photography, capturing a model immersed in bursts of magenta and light blue milk. Inspired by the vibrant visuals of Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s Bittersweet music video, the images freeze fleeting moments of chaos into striking compositions of color and form.
Originally conceived as a single image, this series evolved during the making of the portfolio series “Muses” into a haunting narrative of a Nordic witch. Inspired by Fever Ray’s debut album and its stark, otherworldly visuals, the photographs trace a transformation that merges myth, music, and identity into a cohesive visual portraits.
This portfolio series explores identity and performance through ten conceptual portraits, each embodying a distinct archetype: Deceiver, Wild Child, The Evil Queen, Masquerade, Color Spirit, Luna, Black Bird, Fragile, Dandy, and The Witch. Drawing inspiration from music icons such as Mylène Farmer, Sarah Brightman, Emma Shapplin, and Fever Ray, the project translates their theatricality, mood, and artistry into visual form.
Each portrait was carefully styled and composed to emphasize costume, expression, and atmosphere, blending fashion photography with narrative storytelling. The goal was to create striking standalone images that also function as a cohesive collection, showcasing versatility in direction, lighting, and post-production while pushing the boundaries of character-driven photography.
