I’m Anthony Craythorn, a Melbourne-based sound designer, mixing engineer and producer with more than a decade of experience working across musical theatre, live music and studio production. My speciality is taking complex, raw recordings and turning them into polished, full-sounding records. Whether I’m working with live multitracks, dense orchestral arrangements or more traditional band recordings, I focus on preserving the energy and character of the performance while giving it the clarity, weight and cohesion of a finished commercial release. My background is rooted in large-scale professional musical theatre, where I’ve worked on productions including *Beetlejuice*, *The Phantom of the Opera*, *TINA – The Tina Turner Musical*, *West Side Story* and *Evita*. Most recently, I served as Head of Sound for the Australian production of *Beetlejuice* and mixed its live cast album, working extensively with raw multitrack recordings to shape the vocals, band and orchestration into a cohesive record. That experience has made me particularly comfortable with challenging sessions: large track counts, live recordings, imperfect performances and arrangements where dozens of elements need to work together without losing impact. My approach combines detailed editing and technical precision with a musical, production-focused mindset.
