Hi, I’m Shailee Dixit, an animator, designer, and digital artist open to contract work. I create short animated videos and illustrations, collaborating with clients through platforms like Upwork and Creative Circle. I thrive on turning briefs into visually engaging pieces and love building reusable assets for efficiency.
My background includes an MFA in Digital Arts (Animation) from Pratt Institute and a B.Des in Animation Film Design from NID. I’ve collaborated with teams to design props and characters, train newer members, and organize production assets. I’m based in Brooklyn, NY, and always excited to bring lively storytelling and strong craft to new projects.

An animation and motion graphics project (no music or voiceover on my end) for multimedia producer Oliver Schneewind on behalf of the client, Richter Eco.
I was provided with a storyboard in Illustrator and description of the animation needed.
Some of my challenges were a fast turnover and I needed to google-translate some German instructions! The timing also needed to be adjusted later as more text was added.
Animation made to introduce a movie for Get It Made, Inc. The brief was inspired by the prologue animation of “Lady in the Water.” I was provided with the voiceover and a basic script, but had a lot of creative freedom in the design, animation and transitions. This was a longer project and I used a different workflow, combining PNG sequences of hand-drawn animation with skills learned from motion graphics.
Compilation of some motion graphics focused clips.
Reel for newer 2D animation work
Some overlap with the motion graphics reel for character animation.
An explainer video for a case study regarding food insecurity. I was provided with the voiceover and some assets,. I planned and animated them and created or modified other assets for use.
Originally created for Sherpa as a 30-second loop, the project was cancelled soon into production, so I finished it up as a sample for motion graphics. (Logo and text as provided; animation and assets are either bought or created by me).

Short motion graphics project done for Merrill Visuals LLC. They were great to work with and provided me with references and B-roll footage!
This was an opportunity to try a new style and learn more efficient ways to use After Effects. The most challenging part for me was finding a way to smoothly animate the video grid- I ultimately used pre-comps for each video. A similar method was used for the “flexible design” segments. Rounded rectangles are surprisingly challenging to work with, while textboxes (in some cases) can be set up to adjust to the size of the text and then duplicated.
