Hello! My name is Ben Watts, I'm a songwriter and producer of music. I write under the moniker "Chimperialist". Currently, I'm hoping to get into writing music for all types of media. My music is predominantly Alternative Rock/Psychedelic/Punk style and I mostly write Instrumental pieces as I'm a lone operator and cannot stand to listen to my own voice on playback! I would say my main musical influences are Radiohead, Mars Volta, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Tame Impala, Death From Above 1979, Screaming Citizens and Biffy Clyro among others. Despite mainly being a Rock person, I'm a fan of many genres including Hip-Hop, Jazz, Funk, Soul as well as some Latin, African and Middle Eastern styles. Writing music is definitely my passion and I've been at it since my early teens (which is longer ago now than I like to think about). Although I currently mostly write Rock/Alternative music, I would really like to expand into writing music with different flavours. As I'm currently looking to get into composition for sync in media, I'd love to hear from you if you are operating in that world and think that my music would be a good fit for any projects you might be involved with.
