I am Cecilia Marins, a Brazilian author, illustrator, and journalist based in São Paulo. I recently completed a three-month residency at the Maison des Auteurs in Angoulême, where I worked on my latest graphic novel, Three Stations. I've been honored to receive Brazil's two main comic book awards: the Ângelo Agostini Trophy for Best Independent Publication with Amarras, and the 36th HQ Mix for Boy Dodói, a short story published by Alibri in Germany in 2025. My work focuses on translating taboos and other sensitive topics into captivating comic book stories. I have contributed as an illustrator to AmarElo, a Netflix documentary nominated for an Emmy Award for Best Art Program. In recent years, I was one of only ten artists invited to appear on the popular evening show Roda Viva, where political leaders, writers, philosophers, and artists engage in thoughtful and witty interviews.
