Chaz Nielsen – Music Producer, Mixing & Mastering Engineer
I’m a New Zealand-based music producer, mixing engineer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist with over 20 years of experience creating, recording, and producing music across a wide range of genres.
My background spans rock, alternative, metal, acoustic singer-songwriter, worship, and contemporary Christian music. As both a producer and performing musician, I understand the creative process from the inside out. I’ve written, recorded, mixed, and released music for my own projects, collaborated with multiple artists, and helped bring songs from rough demos to polished, release-ready productions.
I specialise in:
• Mixing and mastering
• Vocal editing and tuning
• Song arrangement and production
• Audio restoration and cleanup
• Acoustic and electric guitar recording
• Drum programming and editing
• Creative feedback and artist development
I work primarily in Logic Pro and have extensive experience using industry-standard plugins from Waves, iZotope, Universal Audio, FabFilter, and other leading audio software developers.
What sets me apart is my focus on storytelling. Great mixes are not just technically balanced—they communicate emotion. Whether a song is about faith, loss, redemption, hope, recovery, family, or personal growth, my goal is to enhance the message and create a listening experience that connects with people on a deeper level.
As an active songwriter and recording artist myself, I understand how personal music can be. I aim to build genuine working relationships with artists and become a trusted creative partner rather than simply delivering a service.
If you’re looking for someone who can combine technical expertise with musical sensitivity and a collaborative approach, I’d love to help bring your vision to life.
