Took piano lessons, did a good amount of self-study for a while; I want to understand the music of Chopin and Czerny through contemporary Japanese music. I've mostly been improvising pieces on various pianos here, but I am capable with FL Studio as a digital audio workshop.

“Point of Ingress | Indie Soundtrack Project”

    ()

A short video as a proof of concept or independent movie project, used to showcase an audio track composed with synth (designed in Sytrus as well as Spitfire Audio’s Labs plugins), piano, and horns. The video could work as a scene or an intro in the style of the Ingress anime (by Craftar).

    • Used Sytrus to select appropriate waveforms, along with various characteristics of the audio such as attack and release, to use with rhythmic gates.

    • Selected preset impulse response and balance dry/wet volumes in Fruity Convolver for each track to add a fuller sound in terms of resonance.

    • Improvised musical themes using my digital keyboard as a midi controller.
“Setting Sail | Indie Soundtrack Project”

    ()

A short video as proof of concept or independent movie project, used to showcase a musical theme based on a I-VI-N-V harmonic progression. The piece uses a combination of pads designed with Sytrus as well as stacked layers of Spitfire Audio soundfonts for violin and cello in conjunction with FL Studio’s default violin soundfonts; although the video is of modern naval footage, the musical style is modern arpeggiation relative to the aesthetic of master and commander.

    • Layered instruments – viz. violin, cello, and pad with choral soundfont – to produce a more complicated and richer series of overtones.

    • Used preset impulse response samples with Fruity Convolver as well as cautiously added wet decay in Fruity Reverb 2 to add resonance to the instruments.

    • Improvised musical themes using my digital keyboard as a midi controller.
“C’est le vin | Indie Soundtrack Project”

    ()

A proof of concept video that showcases a musical theme, in the style of a little fake wine ad. The musical style is a simple romantic era or impressionistic one, with piano and strings.

    • Layered instruments – viz. violin, cello, and piano – to produce a more complicated and richer series of overtones.

    • Used preset impulse response samples with Fruity Convolver as well as cautiously added wet decay in Fruity Reverb 2 to add resonance to the instruments.

    • Improvised theme, referring to footage in FL Studio’s Video Game Editor plugin, using my digital keyboard as a midi controller.
“Reminiscence | fantasy for piano and strings d major 210726”

    ()

A romantic era piece for piano and strings in d major, which I improvised/composed using my digital keyboard as a midi controller. I refer to some ideas from Chopin’s preludes at a moderate tempo in this work.

    • Layered instruments – viz. violin, cello, and piano – to produce a more complicated and richer series of overtones.

    • Used preset impulse response samples with Fruity Convolver as well as cautiously added wet decay in Fruity Reverb 2 to add resonance to the instruments.

    • Improvised musical themes using my digital keyboard as a midi controller.
    “Chopin Op 10 n 12 310526”

    ()

A practice outtake of Chopin’s revolutionary etude for piano.

    • Layered piano soundfonts to produce a more complicated and richer series of overtones.

    • Used preset impulse response samples with added wet decay in Fruity Reverb 2 to add resonance to the instruments.

    • Improvised musical themes using my digital keyboard as a midi controller.
