Change - Childrens Charity Campaign
CHANGE needed an animation that articulated the many challenges parents face when trying to access childcare in Glasgow's East End. The animation was intended as a resource and a reference for the local community and local service providers. For this reason we worked with CHANGE to identify a number of local landmarks and that could feature in the film and used local people's voices (recorded at home under lockdown conditions). The aim was to show a summary of challenges with childcare in Glasgow's East End using a warm, accessible, organic illustration style featuring familiar community landmarks.Animation and artwork are by me. NHS - Feeding Tube Explainer Graphics
The NHS approached us to create a series of films taking patients through the process of having a feeding tube fitted. The graphics needed to feel authoritative but accessible and unthreatening. I chose to reference old 80s biology textbook graphics, that might feel familiar and comfortable to the audience, but still be trusted as a source of knowledge.

Scottish Guardianship Service Animation
The Scottish Refugee Council and Aberlour have been running the Scottish Guardianship Service for unattended child refugees arriving in Scotland for 10 years now. For their 10th anniversary they needed a film which showed what the experience of arriving in Scotland is like and how it can be different with the help of the service. The animation was accompanied by updated branding and a print document with verbatim stories from the service users who feature at the end of the film.The animation is all about the experience of one refugee and his guardian, so my focus was on making the characters expressive, through their faces and guestures. It uses a mix of narrative, character driven animation, with integrated infographics explaining the service.Artwork and animation is by me. Zero Tolerance - Charity Campaign Film
Zero Tolerance needed a campaign film which showed how discrimination and gender inequality lead directly to violence against women. I drew on their strong monochrome branding, playing with the light and shadow, and with things emerging out of darnkess and being dragged into the light. It also needed to retain an organic, human feel, with lots of natural textures and hand-drawn elements.
