My name is Stefan, and I am a communication and brand designer from Munich, currently based in Zurich. Over the past years, I’ve had the opportunity to work across Europe in leading design roles – from Bureau Borsche, to working as Art Director at the agency Mutabor in Hamburg, to most recently as Senior Lead Designer at On Running in Zurich. At Bureau Borsche, I focused on design projects in the fields of art, culture, and fashion, where I developed a sharp eye for editorial design, visual storytelling, branding, and typographic precision. I was responsible for the redesign of major cultural institutions such as the Haus der Kunst and the Bayerische Staatsoper, from the initial concept and client presentations to the full implementation of their visual identities. Following the relaunch, I continued to lead a dedicated team in the ongoing, multi-year collaboration with these clients – creating campaigns, books, catalogues, and communication assets across print and digital platforms. With Mutabor, I expanded into the commercial brand space, working as an Art Director on multilingual identity systems and global campaigns for clients like BMW and the IAA Mobility. These projects required the design of spatial communication elements such as brand spaces, exhibitions, and large-scale environmental graphics. My experience in architecture helped me translate complex brand messages into coherent physical experiences that worked across formats and environments. At Mutabor, I applied and refined my expertise in and systematic design thinking, delivering scalable, cross-platform solutions that met high strategic and visual standards. At On Running, I took on the role of Senior Lead Designer, where I led a team and was responsible for the visual direction of a international campaign. I developed scalable brand assets across digital and print, and collaborated closely with internal stakeholders from content, marketing, and translation to ensure consistent, high-quality outcomes across all channels. This diverse experience is reflected in successful projects for renowned brands and institutions such as Supreme, Nike, Palm Angels, Moncler, Givenchy, On, Apple, Numéro Berlin, and Spike Art Magazine, as well as for sports clubs like 1860 Munich and Kallithea FC. My work combines a clear understanding of Swiss design principles – reduction, clarity, structure – with a passion for sport, culture, and high-end visual communication. To me, good design is not just about aesthetics, but above all about clarity in communication. Craft-driven, perfectionist design frameworks ensure a consistent visual language that strengthens brand identity and makes complex messages instantly accessible.

The innovative approach merges exhibition titles and artists’ names, reflecting how Haus der Kunst brings together audiences, artists, and various fields. The logo draws inspiration from the building’s curved columns, representing unity and meaningful interactions — fundamental aspects of the Haus der Kunst experience. Its resemblance to a forum, broadcasting waves, a rainbow, a symbol of diversity and peace, and a bridge connecting people and places is deliberate. TUNE, a captivating music and sound program, possesses its own unique visual identity. It originates from algorithmic processes that transform sentences into sound and then translate them back into visual elements.
