Linocut print starring Vincent Price. My passion for horror began as a child: I loved scary films even though, to be honest, they made me a little nervous. My first encounter with Vincent Price was in Edward Scissorhands, where he seemed almost like a sweet grandpa. And nothing, that cameo captured me. I then saw all his great classics… and realized that he was the undisputed king of Gothic horror, with that ‘I know something you don’t know’ look. Among his most famous films are The Haunted Mansion (1959), Tales of Terror (1962), and The Masque of the Red Death (1964), many based on the works of Edgar Allan Poe and directed by Roger Corman. His ability to move from the terrifying to the grotesque with elegance and irony made him unforgettable. Little curiosity: he is the narrator in Michael Jackson’s song ‘Thriller’. How can you not love him, then? This linocut illustration is my tribute to him, with his enigmatic expression and timeless charm. The linocut technique is perfect for bringing out the contrasts and that mood between the refined and the uncanny that made him an icon. It suits the figure of Mr Price, and engraving it on linoleum was a wonderful experience. Linocut: Vincent Price is printed on high-quality paper and is the perfect addition to the home of any lover of vintage horror films, art prints, and mysterious atmospheres. Or for those who want to be watched by Vincent Price while he sleeps, which is a lot anyway.
