Cristina Bónsem is a Spanish composer, pianist, and musicologist. From a very early age, she displayed extraordinary creativity, inventing melodies and small musical pieces on a toy keyboard until, at the age of 10, she began her formal piano studies at the conservatory in her hometown. Just four years later, she won her first prize in a piano competition, marking the beginning of a career that would go far beyond performance alone. After completing her piano studies, her passion for music led her to continue her education in “History and Science of Music and Musical Technology” at the Autonomous University of Madrid. Her curiosity and professional versatility have driven her to explore multiple facets of music, with composition becoming her greatest passion. She has composed music for short films and theatrical productions, and her works have been featured in various television reports and programs. Her catalogue includes works for solo piano, choir, and chamber ensembles, reflecting her versatility and her ability to adapt to different artistic projects and formats. Her work has also received international recognition. In 2025, she received two nominations for “Best Composition” and “Best Performance,” as well as an Honorable Mention for her work Iberian Charm at the Apollo Global Music Awards in Athens. More recently, she was awarded two Silver Medals at the prestigious Global Music Awards (GMA), an international competition held in San Diego, California (United States).
