I'm a filmmaker and videographer from Colombia, currently based in Atlanta, but open to relocation, hybrid, or remote opportunities. Student Emmy Award nominated editor with over 3 years of professional experience in post-production. Demonstrated expertise in editing documentaries and creating compelling narratives, highlighted by successfully editing work for National Geographic and SCAD TV. Achieved over 65K views and 1k subscribers for my YouTube podcast in less than 365 days, showcasing strong storytelling and technical skills. Known for leading diverse editing teams, optimizing workflows, and delivering high-quality content under tight deadlines, ready to contribute innovative solutions to any production team. But... what motivates Daniela Múnera? I consider myself incredibly privileged because, from a young age, I was immersed in the incredible stories of my grandparents. Their anecdotes sparked a deep curiosity in me about history—especially the history of Colombia. My grandfather’s story of being kidnapped by the guerrilla in 1996, and my grandmother’s family’s experiences of survival were profoundly impactful and shaped my perspective as a child. These experiences motivated me to read, research, and learn more about my country. The more I spoke with older generations who lived through some of Colombia’s most difficult times, the more I realized these stories weren’t being shared in other spaces—not among my friends or in the places I frequented. This realization inspired me to start sharing them. I began by writing, conducting interviews, and asking more questions, eventually turning these efforts into creative projects. My goal has always been to wake up each day and do what I love most: telling stories and giving a voice to those who might never have imagined themselves in front of a camera. Today, I have the privilege of doing exactly that. Through documentary film I listen to people's experiences and weave them into something magical—I found I have the power to visually portray their stories while adding the perfect sound to touch people’s hearts. Editing these projects allows me to bring light to inspirational stories that often go untold. Every project I undertake—whether a film, podcast, or documentary—aims to create meaningful, heartfelt experiences for the participants and the audience. I am endlessly grateful for everyone who has been a part of this journey. The lessons I’ve learned from each story, question, and shared moment are priceless, and they continue to inspire me every day. Thank you for being here and for joining me in celebrating these incredible voices.
