Dashikis for a cause
Whilst this logo is in its simplest form the complexity of the brand forms both the style of its Dashikis clothing design and the combination of the cause it represents to raise awareness.
The dashiki is a garment for women and men worn traditionally in West Africa and the inspiration for the brand’s design and was an improtant part of the development to create a logo design which not only represents the brand but is detailed to show itself as it does within the colorful garments.
Following the brief, it was asked to create a logo which had a combination of the ribbon that represents the cause of the brand and a subtle touch of the style for dashiki. Using the stylish elements inspired by the traditional design I had created a pattern within the logo which provides some essence of culture within the design.
A unique typeset was formed whilst researching the brand’s appeal and African text to create a design which complimented each other in both the symbolic design and character with Its rough edges formed creating an authentic design.
