I'm a video editor based in New York, NY. I'm married and have four cats and two children. Somehow they all get along. I am a dedicated video editor and storyteller with a passion for crafting compelling narratives through visual media. With a background that spans a diverse spectrum of creative disciplines, including theater, music, and writing, I bring a unique and multifaceted perspective to the world of video editing. When I wasn’t devouring movies and television I spent my middle and high school years playing in bands, acting in musicals, and jamming in jazz ensembles. When I arrived at Hamilton College to earn a math degree and pre-med requirements, I couldn’t shake my love of performing. After school, I decided to fully pursue my passion for performing arts. That led me to the Ecole Jacques Lecoq in Paris, a world-renowned theater school that taught me how to tell stories through movement, mime, and improvisation. My work with the theater ensemble I co-founded, Wakka Wakka Productions was nominated for a 2008 Drama Desk Award. The New York Times said, and I quote, “these people may be geniuses.” Wanting to combine my passion for storytelling with my childhood love of cinema, I discovered a passion for video editing. In 2009, I started doing freelance video editing of short films, performer reels, weddings, and branded content. I was drawn to the art of weaving visuals and sound into a compelling narrative. To expand my skills, I attended Manhattan Edit Workshop. I love working with people. I’m an excellent collaborator and thrive in a team environment thanks to my background in ensemble performance. I’m also a creative problem-solver adept at bringing fresh ideas while also delivering with precise attention to detail. --- **Employment and project experience** **Assistant Video Editor** Yahoo Finance _Oct 23, 2023 - July 23, 2024_ **Freelance Video Editor** _January 2009 - Present_ Evocation Media, VIDI Space, Lead Dog Marketing, Independent films, Kickstarter campaigns
