My name is Destiny Calvin and I love editing! From 2021 to 2025, I studied Mass Communications at Meredith College in North Carolina. In my time there, I learned about Film and Media Studies, Video Production, and Digital Communication. I fell in love with the process of film and video editing from courses about filmmaking and video editing client projects. I was also a Podcasting Co-Director for our newspaper publication. My role was founder, producer, and podcast editor. Due to my unique interest, I got the opportunity to make a video essay about film for my senior thesis. My first video essay was titled "Buster Keaton & Absurd Comedy" which is up on YouTube still. I used Adobe Premiere Pro. After school, I got the chance to complete a Video Editing Internship with The Traveling Black Women Network. This was an amazing opportunity that gave me my first real taste of working for a client. How to work with a team and a brand kit. It taught me accountability and how to strengthen my communication. I edited travel vlogs for their YouTube channel which included an introduction to the company, a solo journey vlog and an Ireland vlog. I used CapCut. I love building a story. Taking pieces of an idea or a moment and making it into something that feels like the viewer is immersed in the moment. I have many interests and experiences editing promotional videos, social media content, podcast audio, video essays and travel vlogs.
