Por más que intente Anna-María quedarse escondida bajo una máscara de indiferencia, sigue siendo una niña y no siempre consigue reprimir ese torrente de emociones. Igual que cualquier niño, lo que quiere es ser una niña pequeña que se alegraría de un simple paseo por el parque o de un algodón de azúcar, pero esa pared, montada entre ella y su tío Denis, no le permite abrirse nunca, ni tampoco dar un primer paso hacia ello. Está completamente sola. A su lado no encuentra a nadie que la quiera o atienda e, inconscientemente, va comparando los cuidados parentales con la indiferencia de su tío y, por eso, de cara al primer aniversario del fallecimiento de sus padres, la niña siente un vacío agudo que la envuelve por completo.
