Industry Experience

Media & Entertainment, Professional Services
    Untitled (Short Film)

This short film is set against the backdrop of the 2024 protests in Kenya, focusing on a young man abducted and tortured by state forces for information. The story explores fear, power, and silence at a deeply personal scale, using confinement and restraint as narrative tools.

I served as writer, director, and editor, guiding the project from concept to final cut. Production was intentionally minimal—we worked with a single camera, which became a learning constraint that shaped the film’s visual language. Every shot had to carry narrative weight, forcing precise blocking, framing, and editorial decisions.

The project was a formative experience, sharpening my instincts in story economy, visual storytelling under limitation, and editorial problem-solving, while grounding my work in real political urgency.

    Binti Wa Nguvu Documentary

I worked on this documentary as a Secondary Editor, supporting the final narrative pass of the film. My focus was on tightening the story structure, refining pacing, and ensuring emotional clarity without compromising the sensitivity of the subject matter.

I handled transcription of interviews, identified and integrated supporting B-roll to reinforce key moments, and worked to maintain continuity and coherence across scenes. I also selected the soundtrack, carefully choosing music that underscored the emotional weight of the film without overpowering the voices at its center.

My role was about restraint and precision—strengthening the storytelling while allowing the lived experiences and testimonies to remain the focal point.

Praise Medley | Ahavah Worship Experience (Live)

This project is from a live event where I served as Co-Production Lead and Sound Engineer, overseeing both the technical execution and creative direction of the production. I developed the visual boards for the event and worked closely with the team to determine camera setups, lighting approaches, and audio equipment choices, ensuring visual cohesion and clean live sound capture.

On the technical side, I led the live audio recording, managing signal flow, mic placement, and mix quality to support both the live experience and post-production needs. In post, I edited, mixed and color graded the poject.

The final piece highlights not only the team’s technical capability across audio and visuals, but also my ability to translate a complex live production into a polished, engaging narrative through editing.
