Evelyn Garey

I’m Evelyn Garey, an MFA candidate in Boston University’s Screenwriting program, pursuing freelance writing opportunities—especially in historical drama, historical adaptation, biopic, and coming-of-age genres. I love bringing authentic voices and vivid historical settings to life on the page and screen; film is the premiere medium for inspiring audiences to engage with history and learn from the past.

Beyond writing, I bring hands-on experience in research, production coordination, and theatre from universities, libraries, museums, and drama programs. I have an undergraduate degree in history, as well as theatrical performance, which I blend with my current masters studies to provide stories that are rich with emotion and rooted in historical truth.

Beyond historical writing, I’ve dabbled in many genres, from westerns, to romances, to thrillers, and more. I’m an avid comedy writer as well, particularly in the realm of television. I’m very curious, hard working, and always in search of the next great story, no matter the subject. I thrive in collaborative environments, value clear communication, and enjoy shaping stories from concept to polish.
