Weaving Kinship: Threads of Heritage and Belonging was collection of my final year BA (Hons) Fashion Design that I designed for the University of Salford. This was based on my heritage background, Its focused on identity, culture and cultural narratives through the medium of contemporary womenswear. Did traditional weaving techniques, embroidery, and craft works were used in combination with current design and silhouettes to design a collection which celebrated modern fashion. The project was created from trend analysis, concept development, fabric exploration, fabric samples, pattern making, clothing construction, Adobe suits, and fabric manufacturing.
