Composer and guitarist. I began my musical studies in 2005, at the School of Music of the Universidad de Los Andes (Mérida, Venezuela) where I attended music theory and harmony courses with Prof. Gilberto Rebolledo and trained in the classical guitar by Maestro Leovigildo Díaz. In 2007 I extended my knowledge in the instrument with the instruction of Prof. Eduardo Ubilla at the State Music School of Mérida and with a participation in the masterclass offered by the guitarist Lily Afshar in her venezuelan tour that same year. Currently in my senior year as a Bachelor of Music at the Universidad de Los Andes with a major in musical performance, classical guitar, under the tutelage of Prof. Carlos Oballos, where also have participated in masterclasses with Aquiles Báez and Pablo Camacaro. I have received instruction in Compositional Techniques and Non-Western Musical Systems studies from Prof. Alejandro Pulido; Counterpoint from Dr. Claudio Triputti; and Advanced Harmony, Experimental Compositional Techniques and Orchestration with Prof. Arcángel Castillo-Olivari. With a 10+ years experience as a music composer/arranger, I also specialize in making clean and professional transcriptions of music on Sibelius for music students, professors and musical composers that need clean scores set up for their classes, ensemble practices or editorial publishing. Throughout my entire major I have also been writing articles and essays for the subjects above mentioned and some related to Music/Art History, Aesthetics and Ethnomusicology (my thesis, recently presented, was an ethnomusicological approach to a Venezuelan folklorical music group carreer), being some of them published in one of my college's indexed journal. _Website not available. I dedicate myself to the execution and teaching of the genres of Latin American and Caribbean popular music, combining this with the repertoire for classical guitar. I like playing in ensembles of different instrumental configurations, for which I use tools like the Finale and Sibelius softwares for the realization of the arrangements and adaptations. For being a performer of the Venezuelan genre Joropo (which groups multiple manifestations) I specialize in teaching through the guitar and solfeggio for musicians who are interested in learning it!
