Hello I'm Fish! (they/them) I’m an illustrator, comic artist, character designer, fashion illustrator, and letterer based in Cleveland, Ohio, with an Illustration BFA from the Cleveland Institute of Art. While at CIA, I completed classes in character design, children's book illustration, bookmaking, publication, sequential art, and graphic design. I work in Adobe Photoshop, graphite, colored pencil, marker, and collage. I enjoy bright colors, dramatic shapes and making what I think is beautiful. My style reflects my desire for whimsy and drama, as well an androgyny that comes from my own queer identity. I believe the personality and hand of an artist should be apparent in their work, so my hand lettering aims to reflect myself and the subject of what's being lettered. PREVIOUS WORK Illustration Thesis Work - Video Game Development - Spring 2024 - Conceptualized a dress-up game based on historical and cultural fashion from around the world, and created a functioning mock game for Neanderthal clothing. Created 10 character designs, 3 in-game backgrounds, gameplay mock-ups, and rendered over 40 clothing items and hair styles with multiple color palettes based off period accurate clothing. Illustration Thesis Work - Graphic Novel Illustration - Fall 2023 - Re-imagined a scene from the first Twilight novel into a graphic narrative with a new Shakespearean visual style. To give the series the intention it lacked, i created bold compositions and designed heavily researched costumes. Gabby and Grace, book illustration commission - Spring 2022-Summer 2024 - Created 18 engaging illustrations for a children's story including a cover illustration. I studied and mimicked soft, cartoon children's book art and designed all characters and settings. Community Projects Class, Various Illustration Work - Fall 2022 - Engaged with the community to create illustrations for projects, and drafted multiple versions of illustrations after receiving feedback. Did graphic design for most jobs as well as illustration. Created a concert poster, information flyer, album art, a podcast focal image, and a holiday greeting card. - Worked with the Cleveland Zoo, the 7 Minute Stories Podcast, American Greetings, and The Grog Shop (venue in Cleveland)…Hello I'm Fish!
