This is an image from a project I made for my Art Tutorials 2 class in SUNY Old Westbury. This was my second graphic novel and it surrounds the idea of a stressed businessman and superhero named Bill that comes at a cross roads of what he wants to do in his life. He must decide between continuing his business ventures and making lots of money that comes with a price of unbearable stress or to just be a superhero without making loads of the money. Performing his most daunting heroic act yet helps him decide what he wants to do in his life and which option would truly make him happier. I made this project through colored pencil on paper and used the Autodesk Sketchbook App to make the pages. I also used the app to strengthen the black and white colors and to outline the characters. I used Adobe Photoshop to create the text. Here is a direct link to the full project included in my online portfolio: https://www.twine.net/signin branding logo webdesigner
uniE621 When Life Gives You Rain, Open A Drain
This is an image from a project I made for my Art Tutorials 3 class in SUNY Old Westbury. This is a series of diptych works that tell the story of a character named Shane who goes through several hardships throughout his life but continuously finds different ways of coping along the way. Every two pictures is a set of a diptych. The left side represents the hardship while the right side represents the coping mechanism. I made this entirely in the Autodesk Sketchbook app. These drawings were printed at 12 x 17. uniE621 Save The Ocean
This is an image from a project I made for my Senior Project class in SUNY Old Westbury. This story was made to bring awareness to the issue of marine litter. I investigated the specifics that contribute to this issue, such as a prevalent type of litter found in the ocean. Through doing research for creating this project, I found that fishing gear, such as nets, fish traps, lines or lures is said to make up approximately 46 percent of the Great Pacific garbage patch (popularmechanics.com). Fishermen constantly get their fishing equipment replenished by the companies. This leads the fishermen to mindlessly dispose of their fishing gear either in the ocean or on the shore. The story was made into a physical 20 x 14 book. I made this story entirely in Procreate. uniE621 Galaxy Protection Crew
This is an image from a project I made for my Art Tutorials 1 Class in SUNY Old Westbury. This short graphic novel tells a sci-if story that surrounds an idea of good aliens who are under a corporation called The GPC (Galaxy Protection Crew) that protect the galaxy from threats, including those of evil aliens. In this novel, the GPC protects planet Earth from being destroyed by evil aliens. I thought it would be a fun and unexpected twist to have good aliens protecting Earth in the story. I thought so as books and movies often solely focus on aliens being evil and trying to take over or destroy Earth. This was my first ever graphic novel. For this, I used colored pencil on paper and used the Autodesk Sketchbook app to edit the images. I used the app to outline characters and the images. I also used it to make the pages for the story and to enhance the white and black colors.
