uniE621 Logo design / Somerville Theater
The Somerville Theatre was built in 1914 and is still a working movie theater and performance space today. They wanted a logo that would reflect that history. logo graphicdesigner branding designer
    uniE621 Macbeth promotional design / Theatre@First
When I do design for a theater production, I sit down with the director and ask about their vision for the show, about what the tone is, what themes stand out to them, and how they want to make the audience feel. There are a million ways one can direct any show; I want to be sure that my design really reflects this particular production. After that conversation, I'll come up with some rough concepts to show the director as a starting point for discussion. The director liked the starting points, but felt that the first one was too dark, and that while she was going for a more psychological take than usual with this production, this was a little too much like a thriller. She suggested some other elements to explore, including daggers, trees, shadows, and an empty chair/throne. Using that feedback, I found some stock images as a base for the final composite. graphicdesigner logo
uniE621 Book and cover design / SABR
I've designed over 30 books for the Society for American Baseball Research, including the covers and insides, working with a number of different editors. For the books that focus on a particular time period, I usually do some research into the design and typography of that era and try to incorporate those into the design, while still keeping the books modern and legible. graphicdesigner bookdesign bookcover
uniE621 Impact Report / World Ocean School
World Ocean School, a Boston-based nonprofit, was looking for a graphic designer to create a 16-page impact report to share out their successes of the last year. I worked closely with their development associate through multiple rounds of edits to create a compelling narrative, select and retouch impactful images, and design a readable report to recognize existing donors and encourage new contributions. Using their brand standards, I designed the initial layout, integrated feedback from board members, did some light copy editing, created graphs, and produced print- and web-ready files. The board chair had this to say: Our Annual Report arrived in the mail yesterday, along with a personalized note from Eden. Frankly, I’m blown away by the high quality of the report, which rivals reports we get from large universities with budgets a thousand times larger than ours. This is TERRIFIC! Congratulations on pulling this together. graphicdesigner impactreport printdesign
