Giovanni Alberto Zivillica was born in Siena on 3 January 1999. Fascinated by music from an early age, he began playing the piano with his multi-instrumentalist grandfather and started formal lessons at 6. He attended music-oriented middle and high schools and in 2015 won an Intercultura-AFS scholarship to study in Austria for one year, where he studied with Maestro Emil Tsang in Vienna and Horn. He was then accepted at the 'P. Mascagni' Conservatory in Livorno under the guidance of Maestro Daniel Rivera and later transferred to the 'Giuseppe Verdi' Conservatory in Milan, graduating in 2021 with the highest score from the jury. In 2022 he began a Master’s degree in Sound Design and Music for Media at CFP Bauer in Milan, where he studied with Shari DeLorian, Emilio Pozzolini, Giona Vinti and Alessio Zanin. He was subsequently invited to work at 'Wave Audio Studio' with sound engineer Stefano Mastronardi, where he deepened his knowledge of mixing and mastering techniques, developing music production and original soundtracks, as well as audio editing and post-production. In 2023 he launched his own music project under the pseudonym JnZ, releasing a double track that immediately received critical acclaim and national reviews. In the same year, following a Rolling Stone competition, he was invited to perform live for the magazine, winning first prize in the classical category and being featured in a full interview published by Rolling Stone. Starting from classical piano, he is increasingly fascinated by experimentation and cross-disciplinary production, ranging from synthesizers to orchestrations. His repertoire, rooted in classical tradition, goes beyond interpreting great composers to embrace contemporary and electronic fields. He is currently working on commissioned soundtracks while continuing to develop his personal projects.
