My creative life started at sea. Raised in South Africa, I spent my early teenage years sailing to New Zealand on a yacht my dad built, and it was there, at art school, that I first picked up a camera. Music came next, the guitar, songwriting, and a band called Bonjah that took me from Melbourne to Japan and Europe. Over thirteen years I wrote the songs, shot and directed the music videos and in between, painted, selling out my first solo exhibition in 2010. When the band ended, the camera stayed. I started shooting local musicians in Byron Bay, then built Mos & Co, a boutique production company that's made 200+ films across music videos, fashion and commercial work over nearly a decade. It taught me the industry inside and out. But somewhere in running a business, the artist in me got quieter. This is me stepping back in front of my own work: a cinematographer and director of photography telling stories the way I always have, just with my name on them again.…My creative life started at sea.
