Glorimar Marrero Sánchez

I am a filmmaker and interdisciplinary artist from Puerto Rico, recognized for storytelling and a socially engaged cinematic vision. With a background in audiovisual arts and film, I bring a distinctive blend of aesthetic sensitivity and narrative depth to my work. My debut feature La Pecera (The Fishbowl) premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2023, receiving critical praise for its examination of environmental and political issues in Puerto Rico. I focus on centering marginalized voices and exploring themes of colonialism, identity and resistance through a feminist lens, continually developing projects that challenge conventions and elevate Puerto Rican and Caribbean stories on the global stage.

I am committed to collaborative, community-centered storytelling and to creating spaces where diverse perspectives can shape film and art. Through film, public art, and education, I strive to inspire dialogue, resilience, and social change, while expanding the reach of Caribbean narratives beyond local borders.
