I use primarily free, open-source and non-subscription tools while also applying Adobe and other professional software to deliver polished, spell-checked work.
I build and support websites and digital media, create branding and editorial layouts, and contribute GIS and 3D modeling outputs. With long experience across both design and technology, I help individuals, organizations, and clients produce clear, engaging content that works well on every device and platform.
I did all things related to the creation of this book. I took all photos, created the entire story, performed all necessary graphic design and editing, did all of the book design and self-published. For several years, I was an associate editor of the print publication, "American Currents." And for three full issues, one of which is shown here, I was the Senior Editor. Duties included everything from making copy, to layout, to content review, to illustration, and any and all other duties related to bringing the publication to print. I created this series of technical illustrations for the purpose of helping the Shipwreck Education and Preservation Alliance (SEAPA) obtain grant money for their proposed project. Several softwares were used in the creation of the graphics, and the graphics are scale-accurate in nature. I created this graphical depiction of a proposed fish reef in Lake Michigan for the Shipwreck Education and Preservation Alliance (SEAPA). The document is a to-scale depiction, not just an artist's rendering. The final image prints out flawlessly at 50 inches wide (over 12,000 pixels). Provide print, online, and in-person design services. Use 30+ years of IT and digital media experience to create media across devices and software versions with a courteous, skillful approach. Build websites using HTML/CSS/DHTML, JavaScript, responsive-site design tools, and WordPress. Provide technical consulting, digital/print media support, and GIS-generated maps and SketchUp 3D renderings for Shipwreck Education and Preservation Alliance (SEAPA). In recent years, created a phone app along with interface graphics and helpfiles for a local CSA (PortFish, Ltd.).
Compiled articles and other content for a 40+ page quarterly magazine. Spell- and grammar-checked all content. Arranged and edited the full digital layout in Adobe InDesign. Created graphics to enhance content and completed the remaining steps required for print and digital publication.
