I bring 10 years in audio production with 11 years of story editing experience across audio and video as well as management experience in both startup and established media brands. I have spent my career building and editing complex and engaging narrative audio and video and would be an ideal candidate to do so with you. When I arrived, the startup Blue Wire had no narrative experience and SI had no dedicated personnel, but under my guidance in story selection and development they published must-listen stories that immediately challenged industry leaders on the charts and at the awards. I've become a versatile self-starter. For each project I managed all aspects of audio production including pitching, researching, sourcing archival audio, recording in studio and in the field, interviewing, writing, editing, scoring and sound design, and publishing the final product. I have produced audio on a wide range of topics from race, economics, style, and science in sports to comedy, culture, and art. At TIME Magazine, I produced an even wider range for video. To tell these stories, I collaborate with people with a range of backgrounds and skills. In addition to conducting my own reporting, I also bring experience collaborating with leading in-house journalists like Grant Wahl and Jon Wertheim, local reporters, and even comedians, refining their distinctive styles to suit audio. I have conducted interviews with celebrities across the spectrum from Clint Smith to the Muppets. I have also spent 8 years coaching reporters without audio experience, providing clear and compassionate editorial feedback to develop the skills of individual reporters and help them become more self-sufficient contributors to the team. I enjoy the daily challenge of bringing together journalists, producers, and editors of all skill levels to master the technical details necessary for nuanced narrative sound.
