TEMPLES is a psychedelic rock band from England. The animated music video project was intended for their latest single at the time, titled “CICADA”

The story behind the video revolves around the emergence of the cicada. I captured an Egyptian vibe because the song reminded me of some Egyptian influences, and the colors I chose represent the Egyptian style. I wanted to infuse the video with a touch of mystique and ancient aesthetics, drawing inspiration from the rich cultural heritage of Egypt. The visual elements and thematic choices were carefully crafted to transport the viewers into a realm where the cicada’s rise parallels the gran- deur and enigmatic allure of Egypt.

The music video reflects this duality by blending futuristic and retro elements. Neon-yellow highlights and glowing outlines evoke a high-tech, futuristic vibe, while the animations and visual style channel the warmth of nostalgia. This mix mirrors how the song feels new yet familiar—like stepping into the future while revisiting the past.
