Silver Sparks, is a boardgame particularly designed for the older citizen to enhance
engagement and interaction. The game is themed on ‘diet’ as nutrition and diet plays a
vital role for the overall well-being. Nutrition needs vary with age and it is a neccessity to
keep the elderly informed about it. This game not only serves as an engaging and fun
medium but also as an informative medium to learn more about the dietary habits.
The gameplay of this game is similar to that of the traditional snake and ladder game
through the use of dice. However, this game consists of cards which prompts the next
move in the game when the player lands on the space of reward/drawback. Each players
are given a trump each, which can only be used once in a game for the favour of
themselves.
The game is also a cognitive boost for elderly as it promotes strategic and critical
thinking. More importantly, the game can be served as medium for bonding among
seniors and enhancing their social lives.
