Cover Letter Template Hello! I’m Henna I graduated from California College of the Arts with a BFA in graphic design in 2022 and since then have been working in publishing, designing book covers and interiors. In my time in publishing, I have gained proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, as well as experience in digital photography, art direction, 3D mockup rendering, and pattern design. I also worked closely with the editorial department, primarily corresponding about manuscripts and corrections. In 2024 I was accepted to MFA Design for Social Innovation at the School of Visual Arts. In my time in the program, I gained exposure to responsible research and social organizing, and got to explore how the way we design our world exposes our social reality. While it was a very educational experience, I decided not to return to the program after completing the first semester. I wanted to develop a more focused artistic vision and voice before pursuing a graduate level degree. I’ve had years of experience in customer service environments - as a barista, in food service, and in retail settings - from which I learned how to manage a workspace, attend to tasks and people with proper care and respect to both, and be part of a team. Throughout my life and education I've done printmaking of various kinds, I've made and used moulds for plaster and resin, worked with ceramics and polymer clay, painted with acrylic and watercolor, used an orbital sander, burnt designs into wood, bound books, and various other hands-on things. I'm also an avid crocheter, vocalist, and amateur guitarist. Recently I've been involved in hosting an event series called Tastemakers, the ultimate artist mingling space. My largest contributions come in the form of visual development, having illustrated the logo and original event flyer. I also help produce activities like our SPRINGO craft, and read tarot at the event. I love books, I’m a lifelong reader having read 42 books last year - a standout being Educated by Tara Westover. I also maintain a journaling and poetry practice, I believe in the power of the written word.
