Hindol Deb

I’m Hindol Deb, a sitarist and composer exploring crossover of Indian classical music with Jazz, Western classical, Flamenco, Nordic folk, and beyond. I love weaving the subtle microtonal glides of Indian music into melodic textures that take listeners on a journey across cultures.

Rooted in a traditional Indian classical background, I earned a Master’s in Jazz Improvisation in Cologne and have received state and national scholarships, music residencies, and invitations to renowned festivals. I’ve collaborated with artists such as Marina Abramovic and Markus Stockhausen, and I’ve led ensembles and projects that blend Indian music with contemporary sounds, always seeking a distinctive voice and collaborative spirit.
