Hi I'm Jake, a musician, producer and mix and mastering engineer living and recording in Bristol! Tracks I've recorded have been featured on blogs like 'Clash Magazine', radio shows on 'Radio X', 'BBC Introducing' and '6 Music' as well as Spotify playlists such as 'New Music Friday', 'The Indie List' and 'Hot New Bands'. I love the process of collaboration, meeting new people and helping artists to realise their vision! I first dipped my toe in the murky waters of recording when I was a teenager, playing guitar, and drums in indie bands with my school friends. Hours of Youtube tutorials and a lot of messing around on Garageband led me to a degree course in Creative Music Technology at Bath Spa University. In Bath I formed my band 'Two Day Coma', picking up the bass for the first time and continuing to self-produce, mix and master our recordings from make-shift bedroom and living room studios. Moving to Bristol in 2016 and meeting bands on the circuit opened the door for some studio collaborations and I took over running my own studio in 2022; 'Lineman Limited'. Since then I’ve had the opportunity to work on records spanning a range of genres from Rock, Indie and Folk to Jazz and Hip-Hop. I use Logic Pro as my main DAW with plugins from Soundtoys, Plugin Alliance, Softube, Waves and Kush Audio. I love the variation in analogue flavour you can get with different mic pre's so I keep a lunchbox stocked with Neve and API. I also like getting out the box for that final bit of mix bus juice, using hardware from SPL or summing through my Soundcraft mixing console.
