I’m Jake Shelvey, a writer and filmmaker based in Glasgow, originally from London. I started out as a runner on a range of commercial and film sets, then moved into writing, directing and producing short films. I recently completed GFF’s screenwriting mentorship and I run DV8 Film Club, a bi-monthly event showcasing miniDV/Hi8 films from local filmmakers, with plans to open submissions later this year.
I’m currently balancing freelance work in sound, script supervision, and writing/directing, while also holding a Sales Assistant role at Park Circus. I’m passionate about collaborating with diverse creatives and continuing to develop new shorts and documentary projects.
