When I was a kid my dream job was to be the first
veterinarian to go to space, I had grand aspirations
of helping out all the weird creatures that may be living
on planets far, far away.
I loved imagining all the alien critters I would meet and
take care of one day, I drew them on my school work
and I wrote stories about them.
I remember my parents always being supportive about
the dreams that I had and the drawings I would create.
And although my child self probably saw this as an
encouragement of my (weird) career choice, I know
now that my parents saw a spark of creativity that
they didn’t want to dampen.
From then on as I grew older I continued to create in any
way I could; sketching, painting, printing, collage and
finally graphic design.
Which leads us to now, I graduated from Billy Blue
College of Design with a Bachelor Degree in
Communication Design. I completed my internship with
Minor Hotels and worked for them as Graphic Designer
for 2 years. My latest role was Graphic Design Lead with
Civeo Australia where I worked for two years.
My time at Minor Hotels was incredibly
rewarding and challenging. After a year of working
under two amazing senior designers who found
opportunities to advance their careers I found myself as
the lone designer for all of Australia and New Zealand. I
very quickly became responsible for every campaign and
branded asset that came out of Minor Hotels and I took
that challenge head on. This change in my career was a
massive challenge but one that I took on on every day
with determination and integrity.
When I moved onto Civeo Australia I continued with the
same passion and dedication. Creating assets for all of
Civeo’s owned and operated mining Villages from
housekeeping to safety, operations, P&C, culinary
events and more. Civeo helped me continue to build my
confidence as a Lead Designer and allowed me to
acquire new skills and knowledge to keep growing into
the designer I am today.
I am passionate and excited about bringing dreams and
concepts to life through graphic design and branding.
As a designer, human centred design is at the forefront
of any project I take on. I believe that what makes, not
only studios, but us as designers stand out from the rest is
understanding your clients, what you do and why you’re
doing it.
I am very excited to continue my career as a designer
and I am hopeful and excited to be able to possibly
work with you.
Included with this letter is my resume and portfolio. Thank
you for taking the time to read this and look at my work.
I would love to meet up for a tea or coffee sometime and
have a chat, I am really keen to learn from you.
Thank you so much!
