I’m Joshua McKee, a multi-skilled filmmaker with an array of experience in producing, writing, shooting, and editing. During my BA in Film and Television Production at the University of Bristol, I built hands-on experience across the full workflow, working as a director/editor, and in camera, sound, and lighting roles on several independent projects.
This pairs with professional experience, mostly as a production assistant for Netflix and Floating Harbour Films, where I developed skills in teamwork, problem-solving, and organisation on large and small productions.
One of my proudest achievements is directing and editing the documentary short “Heart is Harm,” which won “Best Documentary Short” at the FDS Festival Film Awards at the BFI-backed Watershed Cinema. I’m also currently developing a proof-of-concept crime comedy, “How to Hide a Body,” as writer/director in collaboration with MA graduates from the National Film and Television School.
