After performing and touring in various outfits over the past decade and a half, James Seymour’s passion has turned to the studio, where he has spent the last 7 years songwriting, recording and producing alongside many artists in the Melbourne music scene. Besides composing under his own project, Feelds, James has worked on releases with artists such as Arcade Fire, Merpire (and their 2020 collaboration project ‘Wilson’s Prom’), Kit (Katie Wighton), Jess Ribeiro, Elizabeth M. Drummond, The Money War, Liv Cartledge, Liam Wright, Jacob Diamond, Loni Rae Thomson, Romanie, Nick Keogh, Meiwa, Eaglemont, Ghostmutt, Billy Barker, Saorsa, Tess Hannah & many more. The latter half of 2019 saw James help build and create Small Time in Brunswick - a recording studio, live stream/performance space and pizza bar/eatery that was founded to help support career committed early stage artists in refining their plan/product and providing a space for them to connect with peers and industry. As the in-house Engineer & Producer, James oversaw the operation of the studios, as well as the coordination of all the live stream performances that happened across the venue. In 2022, James completed building and setting up a studio of his own in Naarm (North Melbourne) called ‘Melrose Place’, where he has spent the last 2 years Producing & collaborating with many artists as his full-time endeavour. James also currently performs as a session musician with many local acts, including; Liam Wright, Pirritu, Maylene Yinnar & Liv Cartledge.
