My passion for illustration began when I turned the first page of a children's book illustrated by Sven Nordqvist. From then on I couldn't put the pen down, constantly sketching, observing and imagining. Illustration is my way of telling stories, to invite children and adults alike to feel and learn. As a creative, I work on my own projects and am always open to working with private clients as well as companies.

Work Experience

Children's Book Illustrator at Private Employer
June 5, 2020 - October 1, 2021
In 2020 I had the opportunity to illustrate the children's book "Du bist ein Geschenk für diese Welt-Schule" ("You're-a-Gift-to-this-World-School"), written by primary school- and yoga-teacher Heike Susen. A book about embracing who you are and celebrating the individual potential of each child. For this project I created digital illustrations for the pages as well as a cover design. Another important request was to create a recognisable and diverse group of characters for the young readers to relate to. During the work process, Heike and I checked in with each other regularly to ensure she'd receive the images and characters she envisioned. All in all it was a very pleasant and harmonious experience for both of us.
Postcard Illustration at Private Employer
September 1, 2022 - March 1, 2024
I was hired by a small business owner to illustrate a thank you card to send along with orders from her shop. Later on the job was followed up by a request to illustrate four postcard designs to sell on her shop. I focused on capturing the personality of the owner as well as incorporate the aesthetic of her products. She was very pleased with the outcome and we both enjoyed the working progress.

The "Café Elefant" in Cologne is one of the city's oldest cafés. In order to capture its atmosphere I incorporated the colours of the old wood paneling as well as the café's vintage interior. The owner now sells these postcards including a unique service: he provides stamps so that the café functions as an impromptu post-office and customers can send their loved ones hugs and kisses while sipping on their coffee.
