I am a Toronto-based Sound Editor, Sound Designer, and Re-recording Mixer originally from Japan. My work focuses on shaping sound as a storytelling tool, with experience across dialogue editing, sound design, Foley, ADR, and 5.1 mixing for film, television, animation, and digital media. I studied Film and Television Production at Humber Polytechnic, where I developed a strong foundation in both production and post-production. During my studies, I worked across a range of narrative and documentary projects, taking on roles in sound editing, sound design, field recording, and mixing. My work on *Room 206* as Sound Designer and Re-recording Mixer marked an important milestone in my development, allowing me to take a project through the sound post-production process and complete my first 5.1 surround mix. I later gained professional post-production experience through my internship at ImagesInSound, where I worked as an Assistant Sound Editor and Assistant Mixer. Working in a professional post-production environment, I gained hands-on experience with dialogue editing, ADR preparation, sound editing, mixing, and industry workflows using Pro Tools and Nuendo. What sets me apart is the combination of my technical understanding, hands-on experience, and sensitivity to storytelling. I approach sound not simply as something that supports the image, but as an essential part of how an audience experiences a story. I am particularly drawn to dialogue editing and sound design, where subtle choices in performance, texture, space, and timing can completely change the emotional impact of a scene. Coming from Japan and building my career in Toronto, I bring a cross-cultural perspective to my work and a willingness to adapt, collaborate, and learn within different creative environments. My goal is to continue developing as a sound professional while contributing to films and television projects where sound plays an important role in shaping the world, emotion, and identity of a story.
